Coach Jared Lloyd brings excitement, enthusiasm, and a broad knowledge of the game. Lloyd has
been training kids for 9 years starting at Major Hoops Academy in Lakewood in 2001. Then Jared
was hired at S.C.B.A in October of 2003. He also was the head trainer for NJB Academy from
2005-2007.
While training some of the top talent in Southern California, Lloyd also pursued his playing
career. Lloyd played professionally for the A.B.A Orange County Buzz from 2005-07. As a
rookie, Lloyd averaged 8 points per game. Jared had a career high 19 points and 6 three
pointers against the Tijuana Dragons.
Before playing with the Orange County Buzz, Lloyd prepped at St. Anthony’s High School and
played college basketball for Cal State Monterey Bay and Hope International University. While at
St. Anthony High School, Lloyd was a two time 1st team all C.I.F a three time all Camino Real
League selection. Lloyd was also ranked as the #19 best shooting guard in California by Hoop
Scoop and a member of the 2000 Dream Team selection with the likes of current NBA players
Josh Childress of the Phoenix Suns and Tyson Chandler of the Dallas Mavericks.
After leading his team to the C.I.F championship in 2000, Lloyd resumed his career in 2002 at Cal
State Monterey Bay. As a freshman, Jared was third on the team in scoring (10.0 points per
game) and was selected to the all Cal Pac Freshmen Team. At Hope International University from
2003-2005, Lloyd was 5th in the GSAC in scoring (17.0 points per game) and was top ten in three
other different categories during his tenure at H.I.U.
Played in the 2006 NBA Summer Pro League. Competed against N.B.A veterans Anfernee
"Penny" Hardaway and Charles "Bo" Outlaw. Averaged 8 points per game in the S.P.L. Had 18
points against former N.B.A. 3 pt champion Craig Hodges "Team Game".
Played from 2005-07 with the Orange County/Maywood Buzz of the A.B.A. Averaged 10 points
per game.
Coach Lloyd also has coached at the high school and college level. He was the Varsity assistant
coach at Long Beach Cabrillo High School from 2006-2008. He is currently the assistant
coach at Los Angeles Harbor Junior College.
Coach Lloyd graduated from University of Phoenix in December of 2008
with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
